Our "Meet The Players Night" at the Sports Cafe, Quay Street, was a huge success! Around 150 fans crammed into the function area of the impressive venue to meet the men who'll be wearing the Phoenix colours for the forthcoming season and to get a first look at the new team home jersey as modelled by Phoenix Head Coach Rick Brebant. Phoenix Director Neil Morris, Coach Brebant and Media Director Andy Costigan introduced most of the new players to the fans, and the players gave us a few insights into their hockey experiences, including why Dave Clancy is nicknamed 'Catflap'! The Phoenix players then chatted with the fans and soaked up the atmosphere whilst the DJ entertained everyone. The fans also met Dustin Robin, a locally-based player who is current having trials with the team in the hope of securing a roster spot, and Coach Brebant dropped some huge hints that we should expect a new import to be signed this week!
The "Meet The Players Night" also gave fans the chance to pre-order their new team jerseys. Orders will also be taken at both Deeside games, and the jerseys should be available for wearing before the start of the season!
Great night out. Nice to see nearly all the players. Cheap beer as well also helped!!! Whens the next one?
